Chu Lai Open Economic Zone (Chu Lai OEZ)
According to the master plan for Quang Nam province in the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision to 2050, Chu Lai OEZ is a coastal economic zone, covering an area of 27,040 hectares, located in Tam Ky, Thang Binh, and Nui Thanh.
Chu Lai OEZ will attract domestic and foreign investment to turn it into a multi-industrial and multi-sectoral marine economic zone.
Chu Lai OEZ will become one of the major development centers of the region and the whole country with the main breakthroughs in mechanical assembly, automobile manufacturing, gas and electricity, and industrial products supporting the mechanical industry, gas, automation, electronics, and other products after gas.
A national pharmaceutical processing center and silica industrial center for the Central region will be built in Chu Lai OEZ. The functionality and capacity of the Chu Lai seaport and airport system will be exploited to gain maximum benefits.
In addition, non-tariff zones associated with seaports and airports as centers for production, processing, and manufacturing of high-value-added products, specific trade, and service activities will be developed. New modern and ecological urban areas and high-end tourist areas will be formed.
Nam Giang International Border Gate Economic Zone
Nam Giang International Border Gate Economic Zone covers an area of 34,160ha.
It is identified as a logistics economic zone, an important gateway connecting the Central key economic region with Southern Laos and Northeast Thailand through the East - West economic corridor.
