(QNO) - Recently, the authorities of Nam Giang District have intensified efforts to support and train traditional craft classes, not only contributing to the creation of high-value economic products but also helping to restore and preserve the cultural heritage of the Co Tu people.

The traditional weaving class has attracted a large number of Co Tu people in Ta Bhing Commune.

Through instruction ranging from theoretical knowledge to basic practical skills, participants gain a comprehensive understanding of the process of creating refined, high-quality products.

In the past, young people rarely showed interest in learning weaving, as they considered it a craft for the elderly.

However, everyone now realizes that weaving is a crucial traditional craft of the Co Tu people that must be preserved and safeguarded.

More importantly, the cultural value of weaving is contributing significantly to community-based tourism, providing locals with additional income and a more stable livelihood.

Pursuing this traditional craft offers an opportunity to earn additional income while contributing to cultural preservation.

This aligns well with the local government's efforts to develop Ta Bhing's community tourism sites into cultural spaces, featuring a diverse range of unique tourism products for visitors.

Through training workshops and short-term courses in recent times, several traditional craft villages have gradually been restored and developed in the form of cooperatives, household groups, and individual households.

Co Tu weaving products such as backpacks, baskets, and trays have become popular souvenirs among tourists. This not only creates jobs and increases income for many Co Tu households but also helps drive economic restructuring in local agriculture and rural areas.
