(QNO) - According to the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the Co Tu community-based tourism cooperative in Nam Giang district, Quang Nam province, has been honored with the ASEAN Tourism Award 2025 in the category of Community Tourism.
The ASEAN Tourism Awards 2025 ceremony took place on January 20, 2025, in Johor, Malaysia, as part of the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF 2025).
The Co Tu Community-Based Tourism Cooperative - Nam Giang was one of five Vietnamese destinations honored in this category, marking its second recognition after the first in 2019.
The cooperative focuses on developing agricultural products, trading handicrafts and souvenirs, and operating tourism services.
With a core team of artisans, locals, and young Co Tu culture enthusiasts, the cooperative boosts social welfare and community life. It generates income while preserving and promoting local cultural values, fostering tourism and community-visitor interaction.
This second ASEAN Community Tourism Award highlights the cooperative's effective approach and strengthens Nam Giang's tourism brand. It also promotes Quang Nam tourism to ASEAN and global audiences.
