Quang Nam in Vietnam tourism map
The strong development of Quang Nam tourism, especially in the past 20 years, has established the local tourism brand as a key destination on Vietnam's tourism map.
Under the master plan, the development of main product lines is associated with central urban areas: Hanoi Capital, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hai Phong, Can Tho, Hoi An (Quang Nam), Hue (Thua Thien Hue)...
Hoi An is also among 11 tourist centers associated with urban areas with outstanding potential and advantages.
Accordingly, Hoi An, along with Ha Long (Quang Ninh), Ninh Binh (Ninh Binh), Hue, Da Nang, Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh), Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), Da Lat (Lam Dong), Vung Tau ( Ba Ria - Vung Tau), Can Tho, Phu Quoc (Kien Giang), are given priority to develop tourism products and services associated with night-time economic development.
Besides, Vietnam's tourism development will be divided into 8 driving areas.
In particular, the driving force area for tourism development in Quang Binh - Quang Tri - Thua Thien Hue - Da Nang - Quang Nam will promote tourism development in the North Central Region and the Central Coast by connecting international and domestic heritage sites and cultural tourism products with urban tourism and beach resorts.
Moreover, the East - West (Central Vietnam) tourism corridor will be formed on the basis of the Lao Bao - Dong Ha - Da Nang economic corridor, connecting with Laos and the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) countries through the Lao Bao international border gate, and the Nam Giang (Quang Nam) - Da Nang economic corridor, connecting with Laos through the Nam Giang international border gate.
Also, Cu Lao Cham (Quang Nam province) is one of 17 locations in the North Central Region and the Central Coast proposed to develop it into a national tourist area for the period of 2021 - 2030.
By 2045, the master plan anticipates 70 million international arrivals, about VND7,300 trillion ($28.68 billion) in tourism revenue, and the sector accounting for 17-18% of the nation’s GDP.
