(QNO) - A delegation of the Tam Ky city People’s Committee (Quang Nam province, Vietnam), led by its Vice Chairman Do Van Minh, took part in the annual meeting between Tam Ky and La Mam district (Sekong province, Laos) on September 25th, 2024, in La Mam.
Over the past time, the cooperation between Tam Ky and La Mam has developed in all fields and achieved important results, contributing to the socio-economic development, national defense and security of the two localities.
In particular, the fields of education and training and internal affairs have opened up new opportunities in the cooperative relationship.
The Tam Ky People's Committee has granted scholarships to three Lao students who are studying at Quang Nam University and coordinated with Quang Nam University to organize a Vietnamese language training class for 10 officials from La Mam.
Ly Tu Trong Secondary School (Tam Ky) donated equipment for teaching and learning to La Mam with a total value of nearly 170 million VND.
At the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation on education and training between Tam Ky and La Mam was signed.
Accordingly, Tam Ky will support a 12-month Vietnamese language training course for 5-10 La Mam officials in the period of 2025-2026 and create conditions for the delegation from La Mam officials to exchange experiences in education and training.
Ly Tu Trong Secondary School continues to support Laos - Vietnam Friendship School in Sekong province with equipment for teaching and learning.
La Mam district will offer full scholarships to two Tam Ky officials to study Lao language in the period 2025-2028 in La Mam.
