Potential market

As planned, the three localities of Quang Nam, Da Nang, and Thua Thien Hue will organize a joint tourism promotion program in Taiwan on June 21. This will be the inaugural large-scale tourism promotion event organized in Taiwan by these regions.

The program aims at promoting destination brands and introducing tourism products and services in five localities on the Central Heritage Road, including Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, and Quang Nam).

Quang Nam and Taiwan have several similarities in culture. So, Taiwanese tourists easily adapt to Quang Nam tourism products and services.

In recent months, some attractions in Quang Nam, such as Cam Thanh nipa palm forest, and My Son Sancturay, have seen impressive growth in Taiwanese tourists.

Since the beginning of the year, My Son Sanctuary has welcomed more than 260,000 visitors. 70% of them come from Asia, mainly Taiwan and Malaysia. This heritage site aims to welcome 400,000 visitors, including 350,000 international ones, in 2024.

Attracting Taiwanese tourists

About 418,000 tourists from Taiwan (China) came to Vietnam in the first four months of this year, posting an impressive growth of 116.3%, said the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism. More than 45% of travellers choose tourist destinations in Central Vietnam, such as Hue, Hoi An, and Da Nang.
