(QNO) - Quang Nam received over one trillion dongs in funding from foreign organisations in the period of 2019-2024.
In addition to three key pillars of Vietnam's comprehensive diplomacy, Quang Nam, with the motto of proactiveness, flexibility, creativeness, and effectiveness, has built stable, long-term partnerships and maintained ties with 11 localities in different countries, including Laos, China, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, France, and Belarus.
Quang Nam has 26 entities fostering partnerships with Sekong province (Laos), including a village-twinning model connecting 35 villages in Nam Giang and Tay Giang with 16 ones in Dak Cheung and Kaleum.
Cultural diplomacy highlights include the Quang Nam Heritage Festival, the Hoi An-Japan Cultural Exchange, APEC Vietnam Year events, and Korean Culture Days.
Quang Nam has also created a database of overseas Vietnamese to strengthen connections with expatriates. Additionally, 77 foreign NGOs, humanitarian organisations, and individuals have implemented aid projects in Quang Nam.
Quang Nam annually received 150–250 delegations with 1,500–2,500 international donors and volunteers for charitable and disaster recovery efforts.
From 2019 to October 2024, foreign donors contributed over USD 43 million through 489 projects in poverty reduction, healthcare, education, and environmental protection.
