(QNO) - Hoi An city, Quang Nam province has seen a thriving year in tourism, making significant strides toward sustainable development.
In 2024, Hoi An has welcomed over 4.4 million visitors, reaching about 95% of the target set at the beginning of the year.
This year, the city's attractions has continued to move towards sustainable tourism development.
Cu Lao Cham has piloted a certification for biodiversity-friendly establishments to encourage eco-friendly hospitality. Several destinations in Cam Kim have also thrived thanks to community-based tourism development support.
Supported by the project on natural resource management and biodiversity, Cam Thanh's basket boat activities were reorganized with a new cooperative. Hoi An has developed new tour routes for Tra Que, Thanh Ha, and Cu Lao Cham, with Tra Que named "Best Tourism Village" by UNWTO in 2024.
Hoi An also plans to nominate Cam Thanh nipa palm forest for the world’s best agricultural village network.
This year, Hoi An's tourism has continued to receive many honors from international organizations.
