(QNO) - On October 17 in Vientiane (Laos), a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to establish a cooperative and friendly relationship between Hoi An and Luang Prabang.
According to the MoU, Hoi An and Luang Prapang agreed to cooperate and support each other, sharing experiences in management, restoration, preservation, and promoting heritage values.
Both parties will exchange methods to sustainably and effectively use heritage resources for tourism, ensuring long-term benefits for local residents.
The two cities will also hold short-term training and experience exchange programs of cultural and heritage management.
In particular, the two localities will strengthen cooperation in tourism, creating joint tours connecting the two World Heritage sites and sharing experiences in tourism promotion, marketing, and management.
Both cities will jointly hold cultural events and tourism promotion at home and abroad to highlight the World Heritage sites of Hoi An Ancient Town and Luang Prabang and attract more visitors.
This cooperation will further strengthen the friendship, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
Hoi An has recently established cooperative ties with various international cities in Japan, South Korea, Germany, and Laos. The connections affirm the role of Hoi An in international cooperation and offer opportunities to leverage external resources for future growth.
