(QNO) - The 5th National Start-up Summit - Vietnam Start-up 2024 was held at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi on December 8. The event was co-hosted by the Quang Nam provincial People's Committee, the National Start-up Association, and other relevant organisations.
Present at the event were Nguyen Mai Duong, Director of the Department of Innovation under the Ministry of Science and Technology; Dinh Viet Hoa, Chairman of the National Start-up Association; Phan Thai Binh, Permanent Deputy Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People's Committee; and leaders or representatives from various departments and localities.
At the event, Phan Thai Binh emphasized Quang Nam’s strategic central position and robust infrastructure, including highways, railways, air and sea transport, and the Nam Giang international border gate, which bolster its role as a key trade and economic hub.
Rich in natural and cultural resources, Quang Nam has become a dynamic start-up province since launching its ecosystem in 2018, achieving milestones like the land open to innovative start-ups, coordinating the Central Coast Start-up Network in 2020, and earning recognition for surpassing goals ahead of schedule and fostering innovation by 2024.
Pham Ngoc Sinh, Deputy Director of Quang Nam's Department of Science and Technology, said the province's success in hosting eight TechFest events and pioneering the 2023 Start-up Year, inspiring innovation nationwide.
Quang Nam's start-ups have won top national awards. TechFest Quang Nam is among its top 10 socio-economic achievements.
As co-host of the 5th National Start-up Summit, Quang Nam plans to further its ecosystem by hosting an AI, semiconductor, and e-commerce exhibition in Hoi An in 2025.
With support from central agencies, associations, and the business community, Quang Nam aims to strengthen its role in national development.
