(QNO) - Entering the second day of the April 30th - May 1st holidays, My Son Sanctuary (Quang Nam province), attracted a significantly increased number of visitors.
Mr. Nguyen Cong Khiet, Deputy Director of My Son Cultural Heritage Management Board, reported that from April 27th, there has been an average of about 1,500 visitors purchasing tickets to visit the temple complex each day, with the majority being international tourists, representing a 40% increase compared to regular days.
In the first quarter of 2024, the My Son Sanctuary received nearly 123,000 visitors, up by 46.8% compared to the same period last year. International visitors accounted for nearly 110,000, while Vietnamese visitors were over 12,400. On average, more than 1,000 visitors bought tickets to visit the site daily.
Mr. Nguyen Cong Khiet mentioned that they have strengthened partnerships and promotional activities with Hoi An South Development Ltd (Hoiana) to introduce My Son through art performances, film screenings, book releases, and photo exhibitions.
Especially, alongside enhancing security, forest protection, fire prevention and firefighting efforts, there has been frequent development and innovation in tourism products and services, meet the needs of most visitors for exploration and experiences.
