(QNO) - The 5th TechFest Quang Nam 2024, with a series of product displays and trade connections, took place in Tam Ky city, Quang Nam province from June 5 to 9, attracting a large number of participants.
Diverse products
The TechFest Quang Nam 2024, under the theme of intellectual property and digital technology - an innovative start-up platform, drew on a diversity of products in the fields of agriculture, herbal medicine, food, handicraft, technology, equipment, ideas and projects from provincial scientific and technical innovation competitions, ideas and projects from pupils and students, etc.
Among them was the project of producing renewable pellets from Kien Giang sea soil by Nguyen Thanh Phuc, a 12th grade student from Kien Giang province. Plastic waste, rice hulls, and dolomite are mixed into pellet products, a suitable replacement for fossil fuels.
Quang Nam College brought to TechFest Quang Nam 2024 a number of new teaching methods and products, such as the models of gas boosters, automobile transmission systems, instruments for measuring and checking the quality of ostrich eggs, energy bars, cakes and drinks, products from green agriculture.
Promotion of intellectual property protection and technology
Acting Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, Ho Quang Buu, emphasized TechFest Quang Nam 2024 was upgraded, fulfilling the goal of the province's start-up ecosystem by 2030 in accordance with the direction of the Central Government on entrepreneurship.
The event aims to encourage the community to protect intellectual property, strengthen trade exchange in the digital era, and provide organisations and individuals with effective tools for innovation that create business advantage for sustainable development.
According to Nguyen Thi Hong Van - Director of Hong Van Agricultural Development Cooperative (Dai Loc district, Quang Nam province), consumers are currently prior to choosing OCOP (One Commune, One Product) products.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the TechFest Quang Nam 2024, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Hoang Minh, said Quang Nam is known nationwide for its dynamic "open creative start-up" model with a famous inspirational slogan: "Quang Nam - an open land for creative start-ups".
The annual Techfest Quang Nam event has become a source of inspiration, attracting the attention of the business community, associations, unions, agencies, and start-up support organizations in provinces and cities nationwide.
Mr. Minh added, supporting and developing creative start-up models would contribute to solving businesses’ challenges and the socio-economic development of the locality as well as the whole country.
TechFest Quang Nam 2024 gathered 430 display booths with thousands of ideas and products, nearly 500 businesses, cooperatives, idea owners, and start-up projects, OCOP product owners, typical rural industrial products from 18 provinces and cities nationwide, along with 4 associations, 3 colleges, universities, and 18/18 districts, towns, and cities in Quang province.
