(QNO) - Welcoming the first international tourist group to visit Hoi An ancient town on the first day of 2025 marks a significant moment to Quang Nam’s tourism sector to enter the new year with enthusiasm and high expectations.
As an annual event, Hoi An has maintained the tradition of hosting the first group of visitors to the city on New Year’s Day.
This activity is seen as a symbolic gesture, reflecting the warm hospitality and welcome of local people. It promises to open a vibrant year of tourism, attracting more visitors to explore and experience the region, thereby contributing to the social and economic development.
At the My Son sanctuary, a series of artistic programs were organized during the 2025 New Year celebrations, allowing tourists to immerse themselves in the distinctive cultural spaces of the ancient Cham towers.
Reportedly, My Son sanctuary welcomed nearly 446,000 visitors in 2024, gaining an estimated revenue of over 71.4 billion VND, significantly exceeding its planned targets.
In 2024, Quang Nam’s tourism sector recorded over 8 million visitors, with total tourism-related social income estimated at over 21.6 trillion VND, marking an all-time high for local tourism.
For 2025, Quang Nam aims to welcome 8.4 million visitors, including 5.7 million international tourists and 2.7 million domestic tourists, with tourism-related social income expected to exceed 25 trillion VND.
The tourism sector plans to enhance the quality of its products to attract high-quality tourists, exploiting the potential, and establishing itself as a green tourism destination.
