(QNO) - A preliminary review meeting about the anti-drug cooperation between Quang Nam (Vietnam) and Sekong (Laos) in the first six months of 2024 took place on the morning of August 14th in La Mam district, Sekong province.
The meeting was co-chaired by Colonel Nguyen Ha Lai, Deputy Director of Quang Nam Police, and senior lieutenant-colonel Hiemxay Nhalat, Deputy Director of Sekong Police.
The Quang Nam and Sekong Police have worked together efficiently to carry out a variety of activities pertaining to countering drug offences under the memorandum of cooperation on drug prevention for the first half of 2024.
The collaboration helps Quang Nam and Sekong maintain security and order both inside and along their border.
During his speech at the meeting, Colonel Nguyen Ha Lai made a forecast for a more complicated situation of drug-related crimes and social evils in the area in the coming time.
Therefore, it is urgent and significant to fight against drug-related crimes along the Quang Nam - Sekong border.
It is thus essential for Quang Nam and Sekong Police to cooperate and support each other to effectively combat drug crimes in the border area.
At the meeting, Quang Nam and Sekong Police signed a memorandum of cooperation on drug prevention for the last six months of 2024.
