On the morning of March 16, the Quang Nam Provincial People’s Committee announced the provincial master plan for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, and launched the National Biodiversity Restoration Year - Quang Nam 2024 at a conference of the same name.
Present at the conference were Tran Luu Quang, Deputy Prime Minister; former President of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc; Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Planning and Investment; Dang Quoc Khanh, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment; representatives of Central agencies, departments, and ministries, representatives from localities in Vietnam Central and Central Highlands, and leaders of Quang Nam province.
According to Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Quang Nam provincial Party Secretary, the conference has great significance. It is aimed at stating the provincial master plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, which has been approved by the Prime Minister of Vietnam.
Concurrently, the conference declared the National Biodiversity Restoration Year 2024 open.
At the conference, Quang Nam declared the major contents of the provincial master plan for the period 2021-2023, with a vision to 2050.
They will be the basis on which the province identifies its goals, develops policies, and comprehensively controls socio-economic development activities with innovative and creative thinking and a long-term vision in accordance with the national socio-economic development orientation and strategy.
The provincial master plan also ensures a synchronous connection, suitable for the national and regional master plans.
On behalf of Quang Nam provincial leaders, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet sincerely thanked for the leadership and support from the Central Government, other provinces, and cities nationwide during the process Quang Nam has achieved development goals.
At the same time, Luong Nguyen Minh Triet also expressed his gratitude to previous provincial leaders, local and foreign scientists and experts, consulting agencies, and those who have contributed their energy and intelligence to the provincial master plan.
During the development process, Quang Nam is always aware of its economic development in combination with environmental protection, emphasising natural preservation and biodiversity conservation, and sustainably developing natural ecosystems at national and international levels.
The province is aiming for net zero emissions by 2050, promoting the application of science and technology and innovation in order to improve competitiveness and create motivation for rapid and sustainable development.
As a host of the National Biodiversity Restoration Year 2024, Quang Nam will have opportunities to concretize sustainable and green development and organise propaganda activities to restore biodiversity at international and national levels.
After the conference, Quang Nam will carry out the provincial master plan at once and develop proper mechanisms, policies, and solutions in accordance with the master plan.
Besides, the province will continue reforming administrative procedures, improving the investment environment, and mobilising all resources for provincial development.
It is necessary to make greater efforts, consolidate to proactively overcome difficulties, have creative thinking, and nurture the desire to rise of the people of Quang Nam.
In addition, Quang Nam will exploit the provincial potential and advantages and make use of all comparative advantages to seek new opportunities, develop resources to achieve the goals according to the provincial master plan, and successfully organise the National Biodiversity Restoration Year 2024.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang appreciated and warmly praised the outstanding achievements that Quang Nam has achieved over the past few years.
He also said that Quang Nam has many unique features in terms of cultural values, biodiversity, and diligence. These features will help Quang Nam develop rapidly in the coming time.
Taking part in the conference, THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong said that THACO feels happy as it has contributed to the development of the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone, supporting provincial poverty eradication.
THACO is always associated with the development of Quang Nam province. The corporation also commits too soon concretizing the contents of the provincial master plan related to THACO.
On this occasion, Quang Nam approved 16 investment projects with a total registered capital of approximately VND 20 trillion.
Giving the opening speech at the conference, Le Tri Thanh, Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee, said that the conference has an important role in showing Quang Nam’s goals and strategic vision so that the province can exploit and maximise its potential and strengths, ensuring the harmony between socio-economic development and environmental protection.
Thereby, Quang Nam will steadily embark on the journey to become a well-developed province and an important growth pole in Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands.
The conference is considered to create new opportunities for Quang Nam to take off and become one of the economic centres and development driving forces in Central Vietnam and the country.
