(QNO) - The strategic road system in Quang Nam has essentially met development needs. The province is still keeping the investment in the road system to create ‘leverage’ for a breakthrough, especially the East-West axis.
Synchronous connection
The Cua Dai bridge, which was put into use in 2016, is an important milestone in traffic connections. It connects the two banks of the Thu Bon river, making it a strategic coastal road.
Till now, the road has gradually become the key route from Hoi An to Chu Lai airport (Nui Thanh district).
According to provincial planning, it is necessary to keep widening the road to meet local traffic needs.
In the provincial western region, the Ho Chi Minh Road has been put into use, connecting from Thua Thien Hue to the provinces in the Central Highlands through Quang Nam’s districts: Tay Giang, Dong Giang, Nam Giang, and Phuoc Son.
The road has an important role in regional linkage and strategic significance for national security in the border areas.
Quang Nam transportation infrastructure has been improved over the last 10 years after the completion of the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway and Truong Son Dong road.
Reportedly, Quang Nam has one expressway and 10 national highways with nearly 970km.
Currently, there are some national transportation projects in Quang Nam province, including two bridges on national highway 40B (Nuoc Oa and Song Truong), expanding Tam Ky bridge, and upgrading national highway 14E.
In terms of transportation within the province, Quang Nam has 26 routes with a total length of 576km.
Keeping investment
Quang Nam makes every effort to mobilise maximum financial resources to upgrade the East - West strategic transportation infrastructure, especially the national highway 40B from Tam Ky to Tien Phuoc.
Besides, a regional linkage project in Central Vietnam is being implemented through Thang Binh, Phu Ninh, Tien Phuoc, and Bac Tra My.
Then, it will be connected with DT613B, making the road smooth from Thang Binh to Bac Tra My.
In the north, there will be a road connecting national highway 14H with the DT609C through Song Thu bridge over the Thu Bon river, another connecting the DT609C with national highway 14B through An Binh bridge over the Vu Gia river, and Van Ly bridge over the Thu Bon river.
These strategic projects can solve the problems of traffic safety and promote smooth regional connectivity, thereby contributing to investment attraction and the development of trade, services, and tourism.
