(QNO) - The Vietnam - South Korea trade and investment promotion conference took place on September 10 in Seoul (South Korea). A delegation from Quang Nam province led by a leader of the Department of Industry and Trade, accompanied by eight local enterprises, attended the conference.
The conference provided an opportunity for businesses and industries in Quang Nam to gain insights into market information and consumer preferences in South Korea, specifically regarding Vietnam’s and Quang Nam’s OCOP (One Commune, One Product) products.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Quang Nam province highlighted the province’s focus on attracting investment and promoting import and export activities, effectively leveraging the free trade agreements signed by Vietnam to develop products and diversify markets and supply chains.
According to the Vietnamese Ambassador to South Korea, Ho Vu, Quang Nam is one of the few regions in Vietnam with a comprehensive transport infrastructure system, including airports, seaports, railways, national highways, and expressways.
Besides the two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary, Quang Nam boasts two economic zones: the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone and the Nam Giang International Border Gate Economic Zone. The province also has 14 industrial parks and 115 industrial clusters.
Since 2023, Quang Nam has attracted 193 foreign investment projects from 30 countries and territories, with a total investment capital of 6.13 billion USD, primarily concentrated in the processing-manufacturing industry, tourism, and services.
South Korea is the largest foreign investor in the province, with 58 active projects and a total registered investment capital exceeding 908 million USD.
