(QNO) - As part of the working visit to Venezuela, Nguyen Duc Dung, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and the provincial delegation placed flowers at the Uncle Ho statue on Boulevard Avenue in the heart of Caracas, Venezuela's capital, early on October 11 (local time).
Joining in the floral tribute to Uncle Ho statue were Tatiana Pugh, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of Asia, the Middle East, and Oceania (Venezuela); Vu Trung My, Ambassador of Vietnam to Venezuela; and a large number of Venezuelan citizens who have a deep affection for Vietnam.
The delegation then visited the "El Cuartel de la Montana" Memorial and offered flowers at Hugo Chavez Frias' tomb.
Nguyen Duc Dung and the Quang Nam delegation had a working session with Carmen Menendez, Mayor of Caracas.
Present at the working session were Ambassador Vu Trung My and officials from Caracas. Nguyen Duc Dung showed his heartfelt gratitude for the Venezuelan warm affection, especially people in Caracas, towards Vietnam, Uncle Ho, and Nguyen Van Troi, Quang Nam's hero.
On behalf of the provincial leadership, Nguyen Duc Dung invited Carmen Menendez to visit Quang Nam to foster mutual understanding and cooperation.
Menendez said Venezuelans love Vietnam. Caracas supported the international peace movements, including Vietnam's. She expressed her intention to visit Quang Nam and hoped for future collaboration, particularly in urban management.
