(QNO) - My Son Sanctuary (Quang Nam province) has become a model of the heritage preservation and promotion.
Over the past 25 years, scientific researches, archeological and restoration works have been carried out methodically through international collaboration programs at My Son Sanctuary.
Several traditional Cham folk cultural values have been revived and preserved, helping to promote the region's intangible cultural heritage to visitors and researchers.
According to Mr. Nguyen Cong Khiet, Director of the My Son Sanctuary Cultural Heritage Management Board, from the very beginning of My Son Sanctuary's designation as a World Cultural Heritage site, the unit has prioritized preservation work above all else.
At the anniversary event, Mr. Steven Wolstenholme, CEO of Hoiana Resort, praised My Son Sanctuary's achievements over 25 years as a World Cultural Heritage site. He highlighted that Quang Nam's tourism brand is gaining international recognition, with culture being a key factor, and My Son Sanctuary being an inseparable part of it.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Hai, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly took time to attend in the anniversary program. He said, after 25 years of being recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage site, My Son Sanctuary has attracted a large number of visitors, cultural researchers, and international organizations. Hoi An and My Son have created two distinct highlights for world heritage, drawing tourists to Quang Nam.
