Lifestart Foundation’s VND 1.5 billion scholarships for medical students

(QNO) - Lifestart Foundation, a non-profit organisation from Australia, has recently granted 9 scholarships to outstanding medical students from disadvantaged backgrounds in Central Vietnam, currently studying at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

Among the recipients, two are from Quang Nam (one General Medicine student and one resident doctor). Beyond financial support, Lifestart Foundation also provided three new laptops, bringing the total scholarship value to over USD 60,275 (more than VND 1.5 billion).

All 9 scholarship recipients have demonstrated outstanding academic performance despite facing significant financial hardships.

Students receive scholarships

Karen Leonard OAM, Lifestart Foundation founder, expressed her deep honour in supporting these talented students. She stated the scholarships not only provide financial aid but also empower them to reach their full potential.

Over the past 20 years, Lifestart Foundation’s medical scholarship programme has been its largest financial investment in Vietnam, enabling many students to pursue medical careers.

The foundation also provides essential study tools, including laptops, and offers monthly mentorship meetings to enhance students' academic success.

Till now, Lifestart Foundation has awarded 114 medical and healthcare scholarships across Vietnam, amounting to USD 639,447 (over VND 16 billion).

The foundation firmly believes that education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty and fostering compassionate professionals who will contribute to Vietnam’s healthcare system and overall development.
