Establishing friendship and cooperation relations between Quang Nam and Attapeu

(QNO) - A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on establishing the bilateral friendship and cooperation relations between Quang Nam province (Vietnam) and Attapeu province (Laos) was signed on March 25 in Quang Nam.

During the meeting between Quang Nam leaders, including Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Van Dung, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Thai Binh, and the delegation from Appatu province, with the participation of Lao Consul General in Da Nang city Souphanh Hadaoheuang, the two sides provided their overview of the socio-economic development situation, potential, strengths, and international cooperation opportunities.

At the meeting, Deputy Governor of Attapeu province Bounseuth Setthilat said Attapeu is located in Southern Laos, sharing borders with Vietnam and Cambodia.
Until now, Appateu has established friendship and cooperation relations with 9 provinces and cities of Vietnam, including Quang Nam.

With its potential and strengths in the fields of agriculture, energy, mining, etc., Attapeu focusses on producing fruits, livestock products, and mineral exploitation for export as well as investing in the road to the Nam Giang - Dac Ta Ooc international border gates.
An MoU on establishing the bilateral friendship and cooperation relations was inked between Quang Nam and Attapeu on March 25.
Chairman Dung said the signing of an MoU on establishing friendship and cooperation relations marked an important turning point in the development of the relationship between Quang Nam and Attapeu provinces.
It is not only a recognition of the achievements in the cooperative relationship between the two provinces but also a foundation for the two sides to support and help each other, further promoting the potential and strengths of each side in the future.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Quang Nam Liberation Day (March 24, 1975 - March 24, 2025) and the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee (March 28, 1930 - March 28, 2025), Deputy Governor of Attapeu province, Bounseuth Setthilat, sent best wishes to the Party Committee, government and people of Quang Nam and presented souvenirs to the provincial leaders.
