A delegation of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) in Vietnam and some experts from the International Urban Cooperation (IUC) in Asia had a working session in Tam Ky city, Quang Nam province on January 13.
The meeting focused on supporting Tam Ky city to implement its urban programme and climate one, and to join the Global Covenant of Mayors for climate and energy.
At the meeting, IUC experts talked about this covenant as the largest confederation of local governments around the world who contribute their voices and actions on climate change.
At present, Can Tho is the only city in Vietnam to join this covenant. So, the UN-Habitat and IUC hope Tam Ky city and more in Vietnam to join the covenant in the coming time.
Then, Tam Ky will be assisted to adapt to climate change, to connect with other projects on climate and energy.
