(QNO) - Representatives from the Management Board of the Cu Lao Cham-Hoi An World Biosphere Reserve participated in a rally celebrating the International Day for Biosphere Reserves in Nghe An on November 8.
The rally aimed to honour Vietnam’s achievements in reserve management and highlight their role in sustainable development and global conservation.
According to the Department of Nature Conservation, Vietnam's biodiversity is at risk from excessive socioeconomic development activities, pollution, land degradation, invasive species, and climate change. They upset ecosystems, necessitating environmental preservation and harmony between humans and the natural world. It is necessary to make each biosphere reserve a sustainable development model.
At the rally, a representative from the Cu Lao Cham-Hoi An Biosphere Reserve committed to advancing sustainable development by strengthening resource management, raising community awareness, fostering sustainable tourism development, collaboration, and scientific research.
With unified commitment from all sectors, we will sustainably expand Vietnam’s biosphere reserves for present and future generations, protecting nature, balancing ecosystems, and supporting sustainable development.
