(QNO) - With a desire to preserve traditional values, a group of young people created a space called ‘Handicraft Hamlet’ within Hoi An ancient town (Quang Nam).
Hoi An is known for its lanterns, old mossy roofs, and traditional crafts. To preserve these heritages, a group of young people created Handicraft Hamlet, a space where traditional crafts are sustained and reimagined.
Founded in June 2023, Handicraft Hamlet has seven workshops: leather crafting, leather carving, mask-making and painting with Vietnamese opera performance, Vietnamese costume modelling, macramé, crochet, and fabric upcycling.
In addition to creating handmade products, Handicraft Hamlet offers daily traditional craft classes. Stories about Hoi An’s culture from hundreds of years ago are also involved in each lesson. Handicraft Hamlet contributes to enhancing the experience for visitors to Hoi An
