(QNO) - There have been 10 handicrafts and 30 craft villages recognized by the Quang Nam People's Committee so far. The preservation and development of these crafts in the era of integration, especially OCOP (One Commune, One Product) products and community-based tourism are being paid attetion to.
“Solutions for preserving and developing traditional crafts in Quang Nam in the era of integration” was the theme of the seminar organized by the Quang Nam Provincial People’s Committee as part of the Quang Nam Traditional Craft Festival 2024 in August.
At the seminar, managers and artisans exchanged experiences and proposed solutions for the preservation and development of traditional crafts while sharing the challenges faced in industry activities and state management.
Numerous suggestions regarding support policies and mechanisms, as well as strategies for community tourism development linked to traditional crafts in Quang Nam, were openly discussed.
Quang Nam has categorized its craft villages into three groups for effective preservation and development strategies. For those at risk of fading away, the focus is on preservation, maintaining traditional skills for cultural and tourism purposes.
For those facing difficulties, support will be given to sustain production and gradually develop high-value products. For successful and new villages, efforts will focus on expanding economically viable crafts with cultural significance and export potential.
Additionally, infrastructure improvements and environmental protection in craft villages will be prioritized.
