(QNO) - September 30th, a tree-planting campaign to restore the forests on Cu Lao Cham was launched in Tan Hiep commune, Hoi An city, Quang Nam province.
The launch ceremony was part of the project “Integrating natural resource management and biodiversity conservation goals into socio-economic development planning and biosphere reserve management in Vietnam” and in response to the National Biodiversity Restoration Year - Quang Nam 2024.
At the event, leaders of the Hoi An city People's Committee, Cu Lao Cham Marine Protected Area Management Board, representatives from related units, and local residents planted about 3,000 indigenous trees.
In addition to their biodiversity value, these species enhance the landscape and are deeply connected to the long-standing cultural traditions of the island's residents.
