Vietnam is recognized as one of the 16 countries with the highest biodiversity in the world. Biodiversity plays an important role in human existence and development.
However, the situation of illegal hunting, trading, and use of wild animals is increasing, driving several wildlife species to the brink of extinction and declining biodiversity.
Wildlife abuse still continues. One of the common behaviors that exists in all localities is the consumption of wildlife meat.
At the seminar, students of Quang Nam University were supplied with meaningful information about biodiversity in Quang Nam province.
Among them were the current status of wildlife hunting, trading, and consumption through investigative reports by journalist Do Doan Hoang.
He wished young people in Vietnam in general and Quang Nam in particular would join hands to protect wild animals and conserve biodiversity.
Giving a speech at the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Trong Duong, Rector of Quang Nam University, said living sustainably in harmony and with responsibility with nature is very important to protect the environment and preserve biodiversity.
