(QNO) - The number of international tourists to Vietnam in December, 2021 increases 14.2% compared with the previous month.
The Vietnam’s tourism still faces difficulties due to Covid-19. So, the tourism sector has closely coordinated with ministries, branches and localities throughout the country to implement the “dual goal” of fighting the epidemic and restoring tourism in the new situation.
The programme themed “Safe traveling - Full experience” aims to restore the confidence of a safe and attractive tourist market.
As a result, 4 million domestic tourists visit Ha Noi city, 1.1 million arrivals to Da Nang, 4.3 million to Quang Ninh, 3.4 million to Thanh Hoa in 2021.
The first international tourists visited Quang Nam province, Phu Quoc island, Khanh Hoa province in November, 2021, after 2 years of temporary lockdown due to Covid-19.
It is the result from the efforts of Vietnam’s tourism in general and the business community in particular to overcome difficulties and recover from the pandemic.
Vietnam continues to welcome international tourists from South Korea, Russia, Thailand, India, Uzbekistan, Kazakstan…in January 2022.
In 2021, Vietnam’s tourism continued to be honoured with regional and international awards such as the leading tourist destination in Asia, Asia’s leading sustainable tourist destination, Ha Long Bay - Asia’s leading tourist destination, Hoi An - Asia’s leading cultural destination, Asia's Leading Tourist Board…
In the period 2022-2025, Vietnam’s tourism focuses on tourism product development, digital transformation, smart tourism and technology and information appliance.
Hopefully, Vietnam will welcome 65 million arrivals including 5 international arrivals with the revenue of 400.000 billion VND in 2022.
