(QNO) - Ly Xuong Can, Vietnam - South Korea Tourism Ambassador, told a story about the relationship between the two countries over the past eight centuries.
The start of the relationship
Ly Xuong Can’s story started with his ancestor’s immigration from Vietnam to South Korea eight centuries ago.
Ly Long Tuong, a prince of King Ly Anh Tong, was born when the Ly Dynasty entered a period of decline. He and his relatives tried to escape the country and unexpectedly went to Korea.
In Korea, Ly Long Tuong had great contributions to Korea in national defence and became an indispensable part of this country. The Ly family then moved to the south and started to build the relationship between Vietnam and Korea.
It is noted that the Ly family always keeps their Vietnamese culture.
Ly Xuong Can, as Vietnamese tourism ambassador in South Korea in the 2024 - 2029 term, has tried his best to promote Vietnam images to South Korea and other countries.
Can also helps South Korean businesses see Vietnam’s potential and identify investment opportunities, especially in remote and harsh localities.
He also hopes the Government of Vietnam will have policies on and strategies for investment attraction, particularly in provinces far from key cities of Vietnam.
According to Ly Xuong Can, each locality has its own strength that should be explored to boost the local socio-economic development.
