(QNO) - On the sidelines of the Vietnam- Korea Business Summit taking place in Chu Lai of Quang Nam province on November 9, Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung had a meeting with Chairman of the Special Committee for South Korea’s New Southern Policy Joo Hyung-chul.
At the meeting, Mr. Joo Hyung Chul talked about three pillars of the South Korea’s New Southern Policy: People, Prosperity and Peace. He also highly appreciated the Vietnam-South Korea cooperative relationship and stated that Vietnam was South Korea’s key partner in Southeast Asia.
This relationship will become tighter as Vietnam takes over the ASEAN Chairmanship 2020 with two events happening in South Korea: South Korea-ASEAN Special Summit and South Korea- Mekong Summit.
Mr. Joo Hyung Chul hoped a grow of the Vietnam- South Korea cooperation in culture, social housing and smart city development, and cooperation for the development of Central Vietnam. At the same time, he suggested that the Vietnamese Government facilitate South Korean businesses, investors and experts so that they could keep their mind on their work.
In reply, Mr. Dung thanked for South Korean Government’s interests in Vietnam and said that the development of Vietnam- South Korea was not equivalent to the potential of two countries.
He said that Vietnam highly appreciated the South Korea’s New Southern Policy and believed in an even cooperation between Vietnam and South Korea in technology, supporting industries and smart city.
Mr. Dung also hoped South Korea to invest more in Central region and promised to create favourable conditions for South Korean businesses here.
