(QNO) - The friendship between Vietnam and Laos in general, Quang Nam and Lao localities in particular, has been more and more developed thanks to the Vietnam- Laos Friendship Association in Quang Nam province.

The Vietnam- Laos Friendship Association plays an important role in the maintenance of diplomatic activities and various programs for Lao students studying at universities and colleges in Quang Nam on the occasion of the National Day of Lao People's Democratic Republic, and Bunpimay Festival.
The association also often offers scholarships to needy students in Quang Nam.
At the same time, a large number of precious artefacts, documents and materials have been given to each other and exhibited at the national monuments of the lower Laos resistance area in Phu Ninh district (Quang Nam province).
The Vietnam- Laos Friendship Association has coordinated with other organizations and benefactors to deploy humanitarian missions in Sekong province (Laos) such as making the diagnosis and treatment of disease, performing eye surgery, providing thousands of people with free medicine, giving necessities and scholarships to needy families and students, supporting and sharing the information about Covid-19, etc.
Upholding tradition
Quang Nam University is supposed to make a significant contribution to the cooperation and friendship between Vietnam and Laos in the province.
Nearly 800 Lao students and officials have studied Vietnamese language and their majors at Quang Nam University. They are supported with study fees and scholarships.
Besides, there are a lot of activities organised to help the exchange between Lao and Vietnamese students, strengthen the solidarity and friendship between the two peoples and two nations.
The Vietnam- Laos Friendship Association also supports to promote the culture of Quang Nam and Sekong provinces to each other, especially the compiling and publishing a book relating to the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
