(QNO) - A high-level delegation of the Laotian Women's Union has recently paid a friendly visit to Quang Nam. It was a chance to appreciate the cooperation relationship between the Laotian and Vietnamese Women's Unions.
On this occasion, the delegation visited the Vietnamese Heroic Mother Monument in Tam Phu Commune (Tam Ky City), Quang Nam museum, the national historic site - the Lower Laos’ Resistance in Phu Thinh (Phu Ninh).
It is believed that the visit reminded Vietnamese and Laotian women of the fine tradition and strong ties between Vietnam and Laos.
Therefore, Vietnamese and Laotian women should promote and look after the fine friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation more.
At the meeting with the delegation, Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Council Phan Viet Cuong talked about the activities Quang Nam has already done for 25 years in order to exchange and support Laotian people in the border areas.
Besides, Quang Nam has facilitated the Laotian students’ study at universities and colleges in Quang Nam, which has helped to improve the Laotian human resources in border provinces, including Sekong, Champasak, and Attapeu.
In addition, Quang Nam has helped Laotian provinces to overcome their difficulties due to storms and floods.
In particular, Quang Nam has just supported Sekong province with VND 20 billion to build a centre for disease control and prevention, some schools, and border guard posts in border areas.
Chairwoman of the Laotian Women's Union Inlavanh Keobounphanh expressed her emotion to Quang Nam and hoped for good cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, Quang Nam province and Laotian localities in the time to come.
