(QNO) - A conference on cooperation for tourism development in the border areas between Vietnam and Laos was held in Dien Bien on October 2nd.
Vietnam and Laos share a border of over 23 hundred kilometres going through 20 provinces and cities with great potential for tourism development and a strategic position on the East-West economic corridor.
Vietnamese and Lao localities have promoted information exchange, cooperating to introduce and popularise the potential for development, advertising and helping to consume local products.
According to Deputy Director-General of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Ha Van Sieu, bilateral tourism cooperation has increased in recent years thanks to the good long-standing friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive partnership between the two countries.
Many activities in tourism promotion and cooperation have been jointly organised, attracting authorities, industry associations and tourism enterprises from both sides.
