On March 4, it was the first time a drone had been used to spray pesticide on a paddy field in Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province by Loc Troi Group.
It took a drone an hour and a half to spray pesticide for a 50ha paddy field while farmers spent 50 hours using traditional technique- hand spraying machine. The amount of pesticide used for this area is 0.5kg, a decrease of 0.5kg compared to the traditional spraying method.
Moreover, spraying pesticide by a drone does not affect farmers' health. Pesticide bottles are collected for treatment without impacting on the environment.
In the coming time, this method will be deployed on other fields in Tam Xuan 2 commune.
