(QNO) - A meeting on upgrading Nam Giang- Dac Ta Ooc border gate to an international border gate happened between provincial leaders of Quang Nam (Vietnam) and Sekong (Laos) on March 15.
Standing Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Huynh Khanh Toan stated the development and effectiveness of the comprehensive cooperative relationship between Quang Nam and Sekong at the meeting. At the same time, the upgrade to Nam Giang- Dac Ta Ooc international border gate was considered very significant for the relationship between two provinces, speeding up the socioeconomic development in both Quang Nam and Sekong.
The meeting discussed and agreed to upgrade Nam Giang- Dac Ta Ooc border gate to an international border gate in the spirit of equality, solidarity, friendliness and mutual respect. The infrastructure of Nam Giang- Dac Ta Ooc border gate has been upgraded and meets the criteria of an international border gate.
The upgrade will be submitted to the governments of Vietnam and Laos for approval in June 2019.
