(QNO) - Vo Tan Tan, from Cam Thanh (Hoi An, Quang Nam), skilfully creates giant bamboo animals that are attractive and impressive to visitors.
Despite having a degree in electronics and telecommunications, Tan followed in his father's footsteps and learnt how to make handicrafts out of bamboo and coconut. Tan has so far had considerable success producing bamboo bicycles for export.
He began creating bamboo animals for display and decoration in 2020.
Dragon Bridge is ordered for display in a hotel. The most challenging part of the process is bending the bamboo to create uniformly curved shapes.
Tan and his craftsman are finishing two 3-meter-long fish and planning to explore other unique creations beyond animals.
After 12 years in making bamboo handicrafts, Tan was recognised as an artisan at the end of 2023.
