Tra Que vegetable farming - a national intangible cultural heritage

Tra Que vegetable village was formed in Cam Ha commune, Hoi An city, Quang Nam province 400 years ago.

It is famous for different herbs and typical spicy vegetables such as basil, coriander, perilla frutescens, and onion grown by traditional organic and intensive farming methods.

Tra Que vegetable village has become a tourist attraction in Hoi An.

There, visitors have chances to enjoy the rustic and peaceful village scene, experience farmers’ activities such as ploughing, fertilizing, watering, and enjoy local food such as basil seeds, Vietnamese crepe, tam huu (three friends).

The recognition of Tra Que vegetable farming as a national intangible cultural heritage is a valuable opportunity to help enhancing the village’s trade  brand, contributing to Hoi An tourism restoration in the coming time.
