(QNO) - Foreigners are very interested in handicrafts, including wicker in Cam Kim commune of Hoi An city. Wicker helps the locals have stable income and maintaining a traditional local craft.

Ms. Henry from the Netherlands has had an interesting experience in wicker at Mr. Ban’s home.

She felt very happy because, according to her, it is not really easy but she has made it well. Meanwhile Mr. Ban teaches how to do wicker enthusiastically.

Wicker has become an attractive tourism product in Cam Kim commune for four years. Visitors usually go to Mr. Ban’s house to experience wicker.

There are about 3-5 groups of foreign visitors going to Mr. Ban’s house every day. Mr. Ban both teaches visitors to do wicker and sell his wicker products.

Mr. Ban loves wicker; so, he is the only person to maintain this traditional craft in Cam Kim. In 2019, Mr. Ban started his wicker performances as a tourism service. It helps him with more income and a better life.

Mr. Ban is 77 years old. He hopes to keep wicker perpetual via passing it to younger generations so that they continue to keep and develop the job.
