Launch of Vientiane - Da Nang direct air route

(QNO) - The first direct air route from Vientiane (Laos) to Da Nang (Vietnam) was officially put into operation on March 30, 2023.

Flight QV317 (Lao Airlines) carried nearly 150 passengers from Vientian to Da Nang city.

A welcome ceremony was held with a water-cannon salute and lion-dancing performance.

The airline uses an Airbus A320 aircraft  with a maximum capacity of 158 passengers on the Vientiane - Da Nang route.

There are two flights per week on Thursday and Sunday. The journey is expected to last for one hour and 15 minutes.

Earlier, Lao Airlines has been operating direct flights to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

These routes are anticipated to attract more passengers from South Korea and China, with Vientiane as a transit point for passengers to Vietnam and Da Nang city.

The direct air route from Vientiane to Da Nang is of great significance to Danang tourism, contributing to the connection between tourism markets, including Da Nang, Laos and localities in the northeast region of Thailand.
