(QNO) - New and annual cultural and tourism events taking place throughout the year have brought visitors and tourists to Hoi An, laying a foundation for the city to become an event city.
Hoi An is inherently a city of different cultural and tourism activities and events which are attractive to visitors.
The National Tourism Year 2022 under the theme Quang Nam- A green tourism destination gives Hoi An an opportunity to diversify cultural and tourism events there.
It is estimated that over 70% of the events belonging to the National Tourism Year 2022 take place in Hoi An.
Besides traditional events such as International Food Festival, International Silk and Brocade Festival, International Choir Competition, Hoi An- Japan Cultural Exchange Programme, many others are first held in the city, including Balloon festival, the first regional traditional craft festival, Hoi An craftsmanship, and Firminana Simplex festival on Cham Islands the fair in Tan Thanh fishing village, and Trinh Cong Son music night in Hoi An memory land.
They are given the priority to happen in summer in order to attract more domestic visitors and tourists to Hoi An and Quang Nam.
As a result, Quang Nam became the province in the Central Key Economic Zone with the largest number of visitors and tourists in the first seven months of 2022.
With its tradition of interference with a lot of cultures around the world, Hoi An has advantages to develop an international event city, contributing to promoting international exchange and cooperation, tourism development, and fostering the brand of a global heritage city. In the later months of 2022, there will be several interesting events in Hoi An, such as Quang Nam green tourism week, Mekong tourism forum 2022, TMG Hoian discovery marathon 2022 among others.
