Tourism businesses discuss Middle Eastern tourist market

(QNO) - On the morning of March 25, a seminar on catering to the Middle Eastern and CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) tourism markets was held in Da Nang.

The seminar, organized by the Da Nang Department of Tourism, attracted participants from hotels, resorts, restaurants, and service providers in Da Nang and Hoi An.

It provided an opportunity for industry stakeholders to exchange insights and explore strategies for expanding and catering to the Middle Eastern and CIS markets, which are considered high-potential segments for Vietnam’s tourism industry.

Experts at the seminar shared valuable insights on Muslim-friendly tourism and Halal certification, including: halal certification regulations in Islamic countries, certification programs and standards, Halal procedures for restaurants and hotels.

A large number of representatives from Da Nang and Hoi An's tourism sector attended the event.

Specifically, Emirates Airlines will operate the Dubai - Bangkok - Da Nang route with a frequency of four flights per week, using Boeing 777 aircraft starting from June 2, 2025. The primary passenger base will include travelers from the UAE, the Middle East, and transit passengers from Europe and the U.S.

Additionally, charter flights from CIS countries will be operated on the Astana & Almaty (Kazakhstan) - Da Nang route, with a frequency of 1–2 flights per week. These flights will use Airbus A330 aircraft and are scheduled to run from April 2 to the end of October 2025, primarily serving travelers from CIS countries.
