(QNO) - Hoi An and Ha Noi- two among 111 typical cities were surveyed and analyzed in the global report on culture for sustainable urban development by UNESCO. The report was announced in a special session of Habitat 3 in Quito (Ecuador) on October 20.

The report consisted of 3 parts: the survey results of the role of culture for sustainable urban development, culture for sustainable cities: approach method, conclusion and suggestion.
In Ha Noi, the value of traditional community and neighbours relationship were reported as an intangible cultural heritage. Meanwhile, Hoi An was a typical model of reinvestment in the heritage conservation. In the period of 1997-2007, Hoi An city mobilized 5,9 million USD to repair 168 State-owned relics and more than 1,000 ancient houses in the locality.
