The Central Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association visits the Lower Laotian Resistance Zone

(QNO) - A delegation from the Central Laos-Vietnam Friendship led by its chairman Vilayvong Butdakham visited the Lower Laotian Resistance Zone (LLRZ) and the Southern Central Administrative Resistance Committee (SCARC) in Phu Ninh district, Quang Nam province on July 6, 2019.

At this place, the delegation visited the exhibition room and got some information about the LLRS and SCARC.  Reportedly, the Lower Laotian Special Zone was built on August 19, 1948 with the help of Quang Nam province. Later, on March 1, 1949, the LLRS and SCARC were officially founded according to Lao proposal for Vietnam’s help.

Then, Phu Ninh district was chosen as the place for the LLRS and SCARC, which was recognized as a national level historical site in 2011.

Mr. Vilayvong Butdakham, on behalf of Lao people and Party, expressed their deep gratitude to Vietnamese people and Party for helping them in the national liberation in the past and in building and developing the country today. At the same time, he also wished the good friendship between Vietnam and Laos, Quang Nam and Sekong to grow more for the two parties’ sustainable and stable development.

On behalf of Quang Nam leaders, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Van Dung said Quang Nam was happy to welcome the Lao delegation to the LLRS and SCARC. He also emphasized the growth of the good friendship between Vietnam and Laos, Quang Nam and Sekong at all times.

Then, Mr. Dung mentioned the project on restoration and embellishment of the LLRS and SCARC in order to maintain the place as a “red address” for the traditional friendship between two parties, two peoples. To contribute to the project, the Lao delegation gave Quang Nam VND45.5 million.

On this occasion, the delegation visited the Vietnam’s Heroic Mother statue and Hoi An ancient town before leaving for their country.
