The ADF grants 31.7 million USD to develop urban infrastructure in Tam Ky city

(QNO) - The signing ceremony on financial support for the secondary cities development project in Quang Nam province has recently held in Ha Noi between representatives of the People’s Committee of Quang Nam province, The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and  Asian Development Fund (ADF).

The total investment of 95 million USD granted by ADB and ADF for the project will be used to implement the plan of comprehensive urban development, natural disaster risks relief, sustainable climate and environmental improvement in 3 cities: Tam Ky (Quang Nam province), Buon Ma Thuot (Dak Lak) and Ha Tinh.

The project will also support to manage solid waste, upgrade urban roads in order to create favourable condition for linking transportation and evacuating in natural disaster, constructing anti-flood  canals and regulating  water pools system.

Besides, the project will support to manage the plan and strengthen capacity to develop secondary cities to become sustainable centers, favourable living zones and impulse economic growth in localities. Quang Nam province will be the clue to implement the project.

Quang Nam province will receive 31.7 million USD to carry out some constructing works in Tam Ky city such as: continuing to build Ban Thach river dyke, upgrading Dien Bien Phu strategy road and developing urban infrastructure. The Constructing Investment Projects Managing Authority of Quang Nam province  was pointed the project’s owner.
