The event organized by Hoi An city Center for Culture and Sports in coordination with Japanese Embassy and agencies in Vietnam aims to strengthen the close relations between two countries Vietnam and Japan in general and Hoi An city and Japan in particular. The progamme consisted of various activities such as the photo exhibition of Hoi An wind, Vietnamese cultural diversification, 14 years of Japan-Hoi An cooperation and exchange, Japanese cherry blossoms in Hoi An, Hoi An-Japan arts and handicraft, Hoi An-Japan arts exchange, animated disguisement, street arts, Judo, bowling, boat racing, Hoi An-Quang Nam-Japan tourism promotion, Japanese cultural experience…
It is the second year the wedding of Ngoc Hoa princess and Japanese businessman Araki Sotaro has been retraced. Ngoc Hoa was Nguyen Phuc Nguyen King’s daughter. Her marriage happened in 1691. She came to live in Japan with her husband in 1620. It is known that she taught Japanese people Vietnamese dances and cuisines, bringing the relief to the needy, building pagodas... Japanese people loved Ngoc Hoa and called her with the informal name Anio. The trade between Hoi An and Japan also became better and the relation between Japan and Vietnam closer.
