Thanksgiving to forest in Tay Giang district

(QNO) - The opening ceremony of the 1st Thanksgiving - 2018 was organized on March 4 in pomu eco-tourism village (A Xan ommune, Tay Giang district, Quang Nam province).

The event was held in accordance with the traditional prototype of Co Tu ethnic people. It was a chance to show the local residents’ gratitude towards Mother Forest. On this occasion, the residents committed to raising their awareness of forest and cultural value protection and tourism attraction.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman Thanh highly praised Tay Giang district’s authority and people for their forest protection. He hoped to maintain this task attached to the locals’ income improvement.

Reportedly, Tay Giang forest covers an area of more than 90,000ha in which natural forests account for 70% of the area with many precious timbers and flora and fauna. In the framework of the event, tourists visited some sites such as R’cung waterfall, Azut rest stop, Co Tu traditional village, pristine pomu forest and experienced the cultural beauties of Co Tu people.
