(QNO) - On February 3, THACO conducted a New Year kick-off celebration at the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone (Quang Nam province), where the corporation launched its projects, showcased its products, and exported its first shipments of the year.
Among the inaugurated projects was the 50,000-ton berth at Chu Lai International Port, part of the Tam Hiep port cluster. Upgraded infrastructure and equipment will triple loading capacity to 100 containers per hour, enhancing port efficiency.
With the aim of making Chu Lai an international logistics hub, THACO has invested in infrastructure and key projects to optimise the supply chain, reduce costs, enhance regional productivity, expand import-export capacity, attract investors, and boost regional economic development.
THACO kicked off Lunar New Year 2025 by exporting over 300 containers through Chu Lai Port, including 120 Kia Frontier trucks to the Middle East, 400 Kia New Carnival body kits to India, and 45 Peugeot Django 150cc motorcycles to Cambodia.
In 2025, THACO plans to export 2,800 semi-trailers and 50,000 household equipment units to North America, 1.4 million auto parts to Asia, and nearly 5,000 industrial equipment sets to Australia and Europe. THACO AGRI will ship 4,000 tons of fresh fruit to Japan and China.
THACO inaugurated auto parts factories, including Body Frame Components, High-End Automotive Glass, Electrical Equipment, and the THACO INDUSTRIES R&D Centre. Concurrently, THACO launched its bus’s new production line and introduced its latest truck and bus models.
According to THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong, new auto parts factories in Chu Lai will contribute to the formation of a regional-level automotive component production hub, alongside THACO's R&D and manufacturing centres.
Quang Nam Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet highly appreciated THACO's achievements at the New Year kick-off ceremony in Chu Lai, expressing confidence in the company’s innovation and growth.
He urged further investment in technology, digitalisation, and expansion and encouraged THACO to lead and connect small and medium-sized businesses within its value chain, creating a sustainable ecosystem in Chu Lai and attracting investment to Quang Nam.
