THACO's future planning

(QNO) - THACO (Truong Hai Auto Corporation) is planning to invest into new models of cars, turning towards a national center for multi-purpose mechanics and autos, and trying to become a diversified industries group of regional stature.

Multi-disciplinary development

2017 is considered an important milestone because THACO has to finish its 3-year strategy (2015-2017), preparing for its activities in the new period of ASEAN integration in 2018. It is what THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong said at the new year launching ceremony at the Chu Lai-Truong Hai Complex.

At the speech, Mr. Duong promised to make every effort to increase its market share of trucks, buses up 45% and account for about 30% that of compacts (including Kia, Mazda and Peugeot).

Besides automobile and mechanical engineering, THACO has also invested into infrastructure, real estate and agricultural industrialization. Therefore, the company focuses on urban planning, development of industrial parks, providing products of real estate and for farming. The target of 2017 is completing the Sala Thu Thiem urban area, building the Tam Hiep-Chu Lai residential district for workers and the Tam Anh South-Chu Lai Industrial Park.

Willing for change and integration

THACO is planning for its growth in specific directions. The construction of the Mazda plant with a capacity of 100,000 units per year starts in the 1st quarter of 2017; and it will be put into operation in mid-2018. The Kia plant will be upgraded completely. A new bus plant with a capacity of 20,000 units per year will be put into operation on July 1, 2017. Development strategies and new factories of painting plastic parts, manufacturing trucks and buses will also be built.

In 2017, THACO will be improved to become a national center for multi-purpose mechanics and autos of regional stature. It is THACO’s year of new start-up under a commitment to the quality and responsibility for a Vietnamese brand name.
