Thaco-Mazda, 3-year strategic cooperation

(QNO) - On December 9th evening, Truong Hai (Thaco) JSC and Mazda Group (Japan) hold the “3 year Thaco – Mazda strategic cooperation” anniversary. Mr. Hoang Trung Hai- the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hai- Secretary of Quang Nam Party Committee and Mr. Le Phuoc Thanh, the Chairman of Quang Nam People’s Committee attended this event.

After 3 years, the VinaMazda joint venture has been completed and put into use the manufacturing and assembling cars factory at Chu Lai Open Economic Zone with maximum capacity of 10,000 units per year by Japanese transferred technology. 4 important models Mazda2, Mazda3, Mazda6  and CX-5 have also been homemade.

Up to now, Thaco has sold more than 15,000 tourism Mazda. 8,230 cars have been sold just in November, 2014, up 300 % to the same period that put Mazda into the second Japanese car brand in Vietnam.

In particular, the distribution system of this brand has also been expanded all over Vietnam with 24 showrooms and 6 three - star sale agencies. Beside, in recent years, VinaMazda  has exported 148 cars to Laos and will boost their exporting in the future.

At the anniversary, they also discussed the general plans in the future such as: increasing the localization rate to 40% in 2018, building Mazda tourism car factory and putting into use in 2017. On this occasion, Thaco also unveiled new Mazda3 car with impressive design and Sky Active engine technology. The price is from 829 million VND to 899 million VND.
