(QNO) - The Thaco Auto - Daimler strategic partnership announcement and the launching of a new Mercedes Benz bus model took place on May 21, 2022.
Thaco Auto and Daimler signed a contract of technology transfer and distribution of Fuso buses and trucks in Vietnam in December, 2017.
Then they have been keeping their cooperation on the Mercedes Benz bus development project in Vietnam. Their goal is exporting Mercedes Benz buses to regional countries.
Also on May 22, 2022, the latest model of Mercedes Benz are launched, marking an important milestone in the strategic cooperation process between Thaco Auto and Daimler.
The latest Thaco Mercedes Benz bus is equipped with 348hp OM457LA engine, PLD fuel injection technology, and BlueTec5 missions reduction technology meeting Euro 5 emissions standards.
There are two versions, one with 47 seats (including 24 VIP seats) and another with 34 beds (22 VIP beds).
Reportedly, over 18 thousand buses under Thaco brand have been distributed. They were also exported to Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore.
According to Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Tan, the government of Quang Nam is always accompanying Thaco, facilitating the development of Thaco Auto.
